I just wanted to add to my above comment that it only takes one person doing this to ruin the whole thing.

A very well written and convincing essay. However, there is one flaw in the logic I would like to address (besides, of course, the requirement of finding a place outside of any current state). The problem is simply the fact that, if joining into the government is not mandatory in order to live there, then people will take advantage of that government, claiming immunity to any and all of its laws. There are many different ways for them to do this, such as stealing utilities or murdering the members of the government. If the government retaliates, it has brought them into itself forcibly, like any state. If the government does not allow those that do not join to live there, it is no different, in this sense, than any current state.

I sincerely hope that someone can resolve this dilemma.

Haha, great comic! I love how you make the Anarchy Boogeyman a quite lovable character. Most other people wouldn't expect that, but by now I have grown used to accepting all lifestyles and beliefs equally. I must admit that the article there actually convinced me even more deeply that anarchy is the way to go. Wouldn't it be great if someone just reserved a great plot of land for all to live on peacefully, free from the clutches of any government? I actually believe that if enough peaceful anarchists decided to live there, a great community could be established, complete with grocery stores, restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations-- or maybe, without a government to force us otherwise, it could even be possible to work towards the production of a more efficient hydrogen-powered car. Think of the possibilities. I know I sound like a total hippie right now, but trust me, it'd be even better than it sounds.

Hmm... But how to acquire this land? That I need to work on. :)
