I know the site is difficult to navigate right now. It’s due for an overhaul. I just wanted to let people know that I’m aware of the problems and there are plans in the works.

Right now the site is built on a standard Wordpress theme that was modified a little for things like color scheme and graphics. There are a few addons like the comic navigation buttons. Those are a bit buggy though so a few comics are out of order. It’s not trivial to fix that either. The buttons are kind of automatic and do not allow me to go back and re-order them. The archive for this particular theme is rather odd. It only shows one post per page and even then it only shows the title; no preview at all or any indication if there’s a comic strip attached to the post. That makes browsing the archives particularly tedious.

I’ll be switching to Comicpress which is designed specifically for comics. Besides having built-in navigation for comics and a much better archive, this will also lead to other improvements in the site. For instance, blog entries are separate from the comic strip at the top. That means I can add blog entries underneath without the comic strip changing or change the strip without changing blog entries. The reason I’m not switching yet is because 2.5 is very nearly about to come out and I want to go straight to that rather than put a lot of work into customizing a version which will become quickly out-dated. The new version, besides having nicer features, also promises to be much easier to customize.

I’d also like to point out that the content of the site will be expanded. The plan is to continue to have weekly comics that will tend to have recurring characters and ongoing story lines like the Anarchy Boogie-man and the upcoming Poopen Von Schnergenberger, a market anarchist entrepeneur monkey. However, I’ll get back in the habit of making topical cartoons, usually single panel, to make comments about current events and what not. These will usually be entered as blog posts and I’ll probably time them for other dates rather than Fridays. The navigation for blog posts will be separate and there will be several blog entries on a page underneath the weekly comic. In addition, I’m soon going to start posting videos to YouTube. Some will be short animations. Others will be brief vlogs. I really will try to keep them brief. I’ll embed these videos here so you can get all the content in one place. It’ll be a lot easier to scan content for the things that interest you.

So in summary, I just want to thank everyone for their patience in advance for the inconveniences that remain for now. I hope to make the wait worthwhile.
