Site Renovations Almost Complete!
As you can see, the site has been completely renovated. I’ve done most of this in a manner that allowed me to preview the changes and switch them on instantly once I’ve made sure everything works. The only part left is to delete some old images. This is due to the difference between how the old site and the new one serve up comic strips. Rather than turn off the site completely for that, I’ve opted to just inform my viewers that you will see a few odd things for a little while today only (5/22/2008).
I encourage you to continue to browse the site. Just be aware that you will occasionally see a squished comic strip that’s a holdover from the previous format until I get all the old ones deleted. As part of this process, I’m using a simple form of compression that will make the file size considerably smaller so they’ll load faster.
Improved Navigation
Meanwhile, enjoy many new features like a better display with the comic right on the front page when you arrive and new navigation features like the comic bookmarking feature on the right. If you’re reading through the archives, it allows you to save your place and start right back at the comic where you left off. The archives are also considerably improved with all the comics in the correct order by the date they were posted.
New Content
There is now a separate area if you scroll down for blog entries. This post is an example of a blog entry and as you can see, it doesn’t interfere with the latest comic strip. This format allows me to post additional content without bumping the latest comic strip off of the front page. Expect to see additional content throughout the week in addition to the regular Friday comic strip. For instance, I will be making topical political cartoons occasionally, usually single panel, that will be entered as blog entries. I’ll also be making video blog entries that will be embedded in the blog area.
The Downside – No Easter Eggs
I’m afraid easter eggs will not work for a little while, at least not in regular comic strips. I can put them into a blog post. The new theme just doesn’t support them unfortunately, but I’m looking into adding that functionality back in as soon as I get a chance.
In Other News
Anarchy In Your Head is now advertising on Free Talk Live. The first ad was read by announcer Mark about 19 minutes and 30 seconds into Monday’s broadcast which you can listen to by clicking here.

The new site layout is awesome.
