The cylinder formula is wrong, too.

It’s correct for an open cylinder. It doesn’t include surface area for the ends. For a closed cylinder it would be 2(pi)rh + 2(pi)r^2.
It’s never wrong if you use the chicken to measure it!
Actually Dale, if it’s open, you must add the interior surface as well, so it’d be ~4(pi)rh assuming a thickness of ~0.
