I woke up at 3am and was unable to get back to sleep. This is the image that entered my mind for some reason. I have other things I need to do besides draw an extra cartoon but I couldn’t help myself. I had to get this out of my head. I got up and popped in my Fellowship of the Ring DVD which I’ve seen far too many times already. I should be sick of it by now. As you can tell, I love Tolkien’s ring of power as an analogy for political goals. I’ve used it before.

Hillary Clinton is expected to make a concession speech soon and give up the Democrat nomination to Barack Obama. I haven’t been paying that much attention to it, but it seems like the struggle has gone on for an unusual amount of time. Obviously I’m being sarcastic when I say she “passed the test”. Obama is practically having to pry the ring from her cold dead fingers. I don’t try to predict which candidate will do the most harm to the country but I must admit a certain satisfaction with seeing her fail, even though common sense tells me I’m going to hate whoever wins in her place. When it comes to politicians, I’m not prejudiced. I hate them all. I’m sure the only reason I don’t hate Obama quite as much is because I haven’t had as long of a time to get to know him as a politician.
