I feel like stuck in the Matrix. Especially when I attempt to talk to someone stuck in a right/left, republican/democrat paradigm. When I attempt to dumb things down I get accused of being a crazy, dangerous anarchist. When I use words like anarchocapitalism or market economy I get accused of being too cerebral, being an intellectual, not living in the "real world", or "dumb." I've heard it called, anti-intellectualism and I think Sarah Palin is the poster child for right anti-intellectuals. On the left you have lemmings who's eyes glaze at the chance for "change." Yes they can, although they won't explain what they can, or how they can, or how much they can.

I think there IS a thought bubble in this country. A thought bubble much like a housing bubble, or a tech bubble is bound to eventually burst. Society cannot exist on the irrational anti-intellectualism that pervades political thought in this country. These anti-intellectual ideas aren't sustainable: that peace can be achieved by arming a violent gang of thugs, or education can achieved by removing dissenting opinion from the classroom, or that social problems can be solved by criminalizing medical problems like drug dependence. I have hope that the thought bubble will one day burst and people will have to rely on reason.
