Blank State Project
I was just thinking about why I’m so happy here in New Hampshire after moving here as a participant in the Free State Project. I’ve talked about it many times before. There’s something very empowering about taking hold of your own destiny and shaping it into what you want. Most people are simply reactionary. They end up wherever they end up because it’s close to where they grew up or they got a job that required them to move. Not many people make a conscious effort to think about about the kind of people they want to associate with and the kind of place where they want to live.
I certainly encourage liberty-lovers to join the fun up here, but then it occurred to me. Why shouldn’t others learn from our success? It seems to be a great idea so far. ______ State Project. Fill in the blank! It could work for anything that people are passionate about. It doesn’t need to be political. What about a Green State Project for people who could pool their efforts with others for more environmentally friendly living? It doesn’t have to be state-oriented either. It could be a certain city or just a geographic area. Maybe some hardcore skiing fans would encourage people to move close to a place that has really great skiing resorts. I can’t imagine being so passionate about skiing that you would relocate, but I’ve come across some pretty intense sports fanatics so who knows?
Feel free to play Devil’s Avocate in the comments. It’s just a little brainstorm I had. I haven’t thought it through too deeply, and why should I? I’ve found my niche where I’m able to meet like-minded people and make some great friends and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I just thought I’d share the wealth.

I think that’s a great idea. And it would work in our favor, because it would illustrate everything we’re saying about liberty. I’d like to see the Socialist State Project – just as long as it doesn’t border New Hampshire!
Great post! I’m trying to bring all sorts of people to Keene… not just libertarians.
Ruby Star Airpark in AZ built around an airstrip. The roads through the residential area are taxiways and planes have the right of way.

I’d like to see a sci-fi nerd-based intentional community, I just wouldn’t like to sit through the fights between representatives of The Federation State Project, The Jedi State Project and The Caprica State Project.
I’d like to see a community come together to become completely self-sustaining and self-sufficient. It’d be nice to establish like-minded individuals who subscribe to the belief that we don’t all have to suckle from the state or state-protected monopolists’ teat to provide certain services, such as electricity, water, and natural gas. Although communal in nature, it could be a petrie dish for true market freedom away from government regulation. It’s a thought and I doubt I’m the first to explore it.
Yo Dale(bert)!

Now Would it be fair to conclude that You Live in the area of the Anarchy State Project? (i.e.: or the Keene State Project? err, I mean the………oh sorry, I should go now.)

Speaking of States that would be good for that, I’d like to strongly recommend those interested choose California since You could have BIG numbers there and you Allready have such a great Start on the Road to Total Socialism! Best!
We should start a program to pay New Hampshire welfare queens to move to Mass.
