I was in the restaurant business for more than 6 years. I’m convinced that waiting tables for tips is a microcosm of market forces at work. Inexperienced waiters that suck, quickly fail and are driven out of the market. True professional servers work in the nicest restaurants and make the most money.

I was one of those inexperienced servers that sucked and quickly was driven out of the market. The free market does indeed work!

  3. Lukas says:

The free market hasn’t arrived here in Paris, France yet. Oh wait, we knew that.

Was the service bad at a recent restaurant outing?

  5. H. Rearden says:

When I dine out I always ask for a glass of water because that way if you finish your drink and the server takes long to refill your drink at least you have water to drink. That is what I hate about dinning out is that the server is never around when you need a drink refill. I heard a celibrity (forget who it was) say that even when the service is bad they leave a tip because they don’t want to get a reputation for being cheap. They explained that unfortuneately when you are a celibrity and don’t tip a poor server the server will tell others that you did not leave a tip but will not admit it was because they sucked at serving and what others will think is that the you (celibrity) are a cheap sob.

Is Josh Ian in real life?

I’ll agree to that Dale. I just made over 100 bucks last night by giving value for value. I didn’t do it alone though. The host bussed a lot of my tables so I made sure to compensate her for what she did for me.

I wanna know the specifics behind this comic. But I understand the frustration. I wish saying what you wanted didn’t come across rude.

  9. Dale says:

The specifics behind this comic? What do you mean?

  10. Kevin Dean says:

    It’s so true!

Yeah and i wish drug dealers had better customer service. Street dealers are the worst. They can’t feature that they’re offering a product competitively. They always try to hustle me, then shoe me away claiming that the police might come. I swear one of these days i’m gotta maul ‘em…. might make a good anarchy comic….

  12. Rich says:

Whoa, dude, you gotta change dealers. Whatever he’s selling you is … uhhh .. not what you want.
